Follow The Directions
01
Step
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray 9 cavities of a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray. (2 minutes)
02
Step
In a medium bowl, cream together 1/2 cup sugar, softened butter, nutmeg, and salt using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg until well combined. (5 minutes)
03
Step
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overmix. (5 minutes)
04
Step
Transfer the batter to a large resealable plastic bag. Snip off one corner of the bag. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan cavities, filling each about halfway full. (3 minutes)
05
Step
Bake in the preheated oven for 7-9 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. (8 minutes)
06
Step
While the donuts are baking, prepare the cinnamon sugar topping. In one shallow bowl, place the melted butter. In another shallow bowl, combine the 2/3 cup sugar and cinnamon. (2 minutes)
07
Step
Once the donuts are out of the oven, let them cool slightly in the pan for a minute or two. Gently remove the warm donuts from the pan and dip each one in the melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat completely. (5 minutes)
For best results, use a donut pan. If you don't have one, you can try using muffin tins, but the shape will be different.
Do not overmix the batter, as this can result in tough donuts.
Be sure to grease the donut pan well to prevent sticking.
These donuts are best enjoyed fresh. However, they can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

Apr 29, 2025Be careful not to overfill the donut pan, or they'll puff up too much.
