Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a slow cooker, combine the chuck roast, beef broth, French onion soup, water, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, garlic, and rosemary. (5 minutes)

02

Step
8 hrs

Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours, or until the beef is incredibly tender. (8-10 hours)

03

Step
5 mins

Once cooked, transfer the beef to a cutting board and thinly slice against the grain. (10 minutes)

For an even richer flavor, sear the chuck roast on all sides in a hot skillet before adding it to the slow cooker.
If you don't have French onion soup, you can substitute it with an equal amount of beef broth and a tablespoon of onion powder.
Serve the sliced beef on crusty rolls or baguette slices. Offer caramelized onions and horseradish sauce as optional toppings.
The au jus from the slow cooker is delicious as is, but you can also reduce it in a saucepan for a more concentrated flavor.
