For a smoother dip, use a food processor to blend the ricotta and cream cheese. Drain the ricotta cheese well by placing it in a cheesecloth-lined strainer for at least 30 minutes before using. If you don't have pizzelle cookies, try using graham crackers, biscotti, or even fresh fruit for dipping. For a hint of citrus, add 1 teaspoon of orange or lemon zest to the dip.
