In a medium bowl, whisk together the steak sauce, sherry, light brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ground black pepper until well combined. (2 minutes)

Place your desired steak(s) in a resealable bag or a shallow dish.

Pour the teriyaki marinade over the steak(s), ensuring they are fully coated. (1 minute)

Seal the bag or cover the dish tightly and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the meat. (4 hours+)

Remove the steak from the marinade and grill, pan-sear, or broil to your desired level of doneness. Discard the used marinade. (Cooking time varies)

For an even deeper flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of grated ginger or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
Marinating for longer periods (up to 24 hours) will result in a more intensely flavored and tender steak.
This marinade is also excellent for chicken, pork, or even tofu.
