For a richer flavor, try using dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar. A splash of balsamic vinegar at the end can add a delightful tang. Fresh thyme can be substituted for dried thyme; use about 1 teaspoon. To make ahead, roast the sweet potatoes and saute the green beans separately. Combine just before serving.
