Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large glass or ceramic bowl, whisk together the yogurt, green onion, olive oil, white wine vinegar, oregano, cumin, salt, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to fully penetrate the chicken. (1 hour - overnight)

03

Step

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C). Lightly grease a shallow baking dish to prevent sticking. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Remove the chicken from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Discard the remaining marinade. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). (25 minutes)

06

Step

Before serving, garnish with freshly chopped spearmint to add a refreshing touch.

For an even deeper flavor, try using Greek yogurt. Its thicker consistency will cling to the chicken beautifully.
Don't be afraid to adjust the cayenne pepper to your liking. A little extra adds a pleasant kick.
Serve this yogurt chicken with a side of couscous or roasted vegetables for a complete and satisfying meal.
Marinating the chicken overnight is highly recommended for the best flavor and tenderness.
