Follow The Directions

01

Step

Gather all ingredients.

02

Step

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

03

Step

Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp, turning occasionally. (Approximately 10 minutes)

04

Step

Remove bacon from pan, draining all but two tablespoons of bacon fat from the skillet.

05

Step

Add ground pork, onion, and bell pepper to the skillet with the reserved bacon fat. Cook over medium heat until meat is browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally. (Approximately 8 to 10 minutes)

06

Step

Stir together baked beans, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, and vinegar in a large bowl.

07

Step

Add sausage mixture and 1/2 cup of the bacon to the bowl. Stir to combine.

08

Step

Transfer to the prepared baking dish.

09

Step

Sprinkle with remaining bacon.

10

Step

Bake until bubbling and the top is caramelized. (Approximately 55 to 60 minutes)

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of your favorite hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
Feel free to experiment with different types of sausage, such as Italian sausage or chorizo, for a unique flavor profile.
If you don't have molasses on hand, you can substitute it with maple syrup or honey.
