Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. (3 minutes)

03

Step

Gradually add the quick-cooking oats, all-purpose baking mix, and brown sugar to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overmix. (2 minutes)

04

Step

In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy. (8 minutes)

05

Step

Press 3/4 of the oat mixture evenly into the prepared baking sheet. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Pour the melted chocolate mixture evenly over the oat base. (2 minutes)

07

Step

Crumble small pieces of the remaining oat mixture randomly over the chocolate layer. (3 minutes)

08

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. (20 minutes)

09

Step

Remove from oven and let cool completely in the baking sheet before cutting into squares. (60 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate.
To prevent sticking, line the baking sheet with parchment paper before pressing in the oat mixture.
The squares can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Add chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds) to the oat mixture for added texture and flavor.
