For a richer flavor, consider using sharp cheddar cheese in addition to or in place of the processed cheese food. If you prefer a smoother soup, use an immersion blender to partially blend the soup after cooking. Be careful not to over-blend, as it can become too thin. To prevent the cheese from sticking to the bottom of the slow cooker, stir the soup every hour or so during cooking.
