Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

02

Step

In a heavy, oven-proof 10-inch skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and diced green onions. Cook and stir for about 5 minutes, or until the sausage is lightly golden brown.

03

Step

In a medium bowl, combine the beaten eggs, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, torn basil leaves, sun-dried tomatoes, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

04

Step

Pour the egg mixture into the skillet over the sausage and onion mixture. Cook on medium heat, gently lifting the edges with a rubber spatula to allow the uncooked egg to flow underneath. Continue cooking until the egg mixture begins to set, approximately 6 minutes.

05

Step

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the frittata is firm to the touch and the top is golden brown.

06

Step

Remove the skillet from the oven. Carefully run a spatula around the edge of the frittata to loosen it from the skillet. Invert the skillet onto a serving platter.

07

Step

Cut the frittata into quarters. Garnish each portion with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves, if desired. Serve immediately.

For a richer flavor, consider using a smoked sausage with a higher fat content.
If you don't have an oven-proof skillet, you can transfer the frittata to a greased baking dish before baking.
Feel free to substitute other vegetables, such as bell peppers or mushrooms, for the green onions.
Sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil add a great depth of flavor, be sure to drain them well before chopping.
To prevent sticking, ensure your skillet is well-seasoned or lightly greased before adding the ingredients.
