Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, sake, minced pineapple, honey, white sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and fish sauce (if using). (Prep time: ~5 minutes)

02

Step
7 mins

Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir continuously until the mixture reaches a gentle boil. (Cook time: ~7 minutes)

03

Step
30 mins

Once boiling, immediately remove the saucepan from the heat. (Cooling time: ~30 minutes)

04

Step

Allow the teriyaki sauce to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container.

05

Step

Store the cooled sauce in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. The flavors will meld and deepen over time.

For a thicker sauce, simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes after it reaches a boil, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or sugar to taste.
If you prefer a smoother sauce, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve after cooling to remove any solids.
This sauce is fantastic with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, or tofu. Marinate for at least 4 hours, or up to 24 hours for maximum flavor.
Brush the sauce over your protein during the last few minutes of grilling or baking for a beautiful glaze.
