Follow The Directions

01

Step

Submerge the cut potatoes in a bowl of ice water and let soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. (30 minutes)

02

Step

Thoroughly drain the potatoes and pat them completely dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving maximum crispness.

03

Step

In a large bowl, gently toss the dried potatoes with the oil to ensure even coating.

04

Step

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). (5 minutes)

05

Step

Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring there is enough space between each fry for optimal air circulation. You may need to cook in batches.

06

Step

Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing the fries every 5 minutes, until they are golden brown and crispy. (20 minutes)

07

Step

Immediately transfer the fries to a bowl and sprinkle with sea salt and your chosen seasoning. Toss to coat evenly. Serve hot and enjoy!

For extra crispy fries, consider double frying them in the air fryer. After the initial cooking time, remove the fries, increase the air fryer temperature to 425°F (220°C), and cook for another 2-3 minutes until deeply golden and extra crisp.
Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket! Overcrowding will steam the potatoes instead of frying them, resulting in soggy fries. Cook in batches if necessary.
Experiment with different seasonings to customize your fries. Try rosemary and garlic, chili powder and lime, or parmesan and black pepper.
Store leftover fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispness.

I used russet potatoes and they came out great. A little drier than Yukon, but still good.
