Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray. (5 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

In a large bowl, gently combine blueberries, white sugar, and 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour until the blueberries are evenly coated. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. (5 minutes)

03

Step
10 mins

In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, rolled oats, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda. Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the dry ingredients using a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. (10 minutes)

04

Step
30 mins

Evenly sprinkle the crumb topping over the blueberry mixture in the baking dish. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the topping is golden brown and the blueberry filling is bubbly, approximately 30 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving. (30 minutes)

For best results, use cold butter straight from the refrigerator. This will ensure a crisp and crumbly topping.
Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg to the topping for extra warmth.
If blueberries are particularly tart, increase the white sugar in the filling to taste.
This crisp can be assembled ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake. Add about 10 minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a dollop of Greek yogurt.
