Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). (Prep time: 5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 of the condensed soup with an equal amount of water. Add the cubed chicken and bring to a simmer. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink in the center. (Cook time: 3-5 minutes)

03

Step

Microwave one frozen bag of cauliflower and broccoli mix until heated through. Let stand for 2 minutes, then transfer to a medium bowl. Repeat with the remaining bag. (Cook time: 10-16 minutes)

04

Step

In another large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the milk and salt, then stir in the remaining condensed soup. Slowly whisk in the flour, ensuring there are no lumps. Add the Cheddar cheese and cook, stirring constantly, until the cheese sauce is thick and smooth. Stir in the garlic powder. (Cook time: 5-7 minutes)

05

Step

Layer half of the vegetables into the bottom of a baking pan or casserole dish. Top with half of the cooked chicken, then pour in half of the cheese sauce. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of bread crumbs. Repeat the layers with the remaining vegetables, chicken, cheese sauce, and bread crumbs. Cover the pan with aluminum foil. (Prep time: 10 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the casserole is bubbling and the breadcrumbs are golden brown. (Cook time: 20-30 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of paprika or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese sauce.
Feel free to substitute other cheeses, such as Monterey Jack or Gruyere, for the Cheddar.
If you prefer a creamier casserole, use heavy cream instead of milk in the cheese sauce.
To prevent the breadcrumbs from burning, you can remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking.
This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking. Add an extra 10-15 minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
Add chopped onion for more flavor.
