For a richer flavor, substitute chicken broth for water and add a splash of white wine to the skillet when cooking the chicken.
Ensure the spinach is thoroughly drained to prevent a watery casserole.
Fresh herbs can be used instead of dried; simply double the quantity.
To ensure even cooking, use a baking dish that is not too deep.
