Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Place tart shells on a baking sheet. (5 minutes)

02

Step
10 mins

Chop 3 ounces of the chocolate into small pieces; sprinkle evenly into the bottom of each tart shell. (10 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, egg, softened butter, white vinegar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined. (5 minutes)

04

Step
5 mins

Carefully fill each tart shell with the sugar mixture, filling them about 3/4 full to allow for expansion during baking. (5 minutes)

05

Step
20 mins

Bake in the preheated oven until the filling expands, becomes bubbly, and the pastry is lightly golden brown, approximately 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet. (20 minutes)

06

Step
5 mins

Melt the remaining chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until smooth and completely melted (about 1 minute total, depending on your microwave's power). (5 minutes)

07

Step
5 mins

Once the tarts have cooled, drizzle the melted chocolate artfully over the top of each tart. Allow the chocolate to set before serving. (5 minutes)

For a deeper chocolate flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate with a higher cacao percentage.
If you don't have tart shells, you can use mini muffin tins lined with pastry.
A pinch of flaky sea salt on top of the melted chocolate adds a delightful contrast of flavors.
Ensure the butter is properly softened to ensure the filling mixes evenly.
Cool completely before drizzling, otherwise melted chocolate will run
If you want nuts, add them before baking
