Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line two baking sheets with Reynolds® Parchment Paper. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and peanut butter using an electric mixer on medium-high speed for about 30 seconds. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Add the packed brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda to the creamed mixture. Beat until well combined, making sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. (3 minutes)

04

Step

Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated and the batter is smooth. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Gradually beat in as much of the all-purpose flour and unsweetened cocoa powder as you can with the electric mixer. If necessary, switch to a wooden spoon or spatula to incorporate the remaining flour and cocoa powder until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Place the granulated sugar in a small bowl. Shape the chocolate peanut butter dough into 1-inch balls. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Roll each ball in the granulated sugar to coat evenly. Place the sugared dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. (5 minutes)

08

Step

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are firm and the centers are set. (12 minutes)

09

Step

Remove the baking sheets from the oven and immediately press a dark chocolate candy gently into the center of each cookie. (3 minutes)

10

Step

Carefully slide the parchment paper with the cookies onto a wire rack to cool completely. This will prevent the cookies from sticking to the baking sheet and ensure they cool evenly. (30 minutes)

For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate kisses, such as milk chocolate or white chocolate, for a unique twist.
