Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients and have them ready to use.

02

Step

Process Orange: Finely chop the quartered orange (with peel) in a food processor until it's finely minced. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Cook Cranberries: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the cranberries and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the cranberries begin to pop and the mixture thickens slightly. (Approximately 10 minutes)

04

Step

Melt Preserves: Transfer the hot cranberry mixture to a heatproof bowl. Add the apricot preserves and stir until the preserves are completely melted and incorporated. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Combine Ingredients: Stir in the chopped orange, drained crushed pineapple, and lemon juice into the cranberry mixture. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

06

Step

Chill: Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the relish to thicken. (4+ hours)

For a smoother relish, you can use a food mill after cooking the cranberries to remove the skins.
If you prefer a less sweet relish, reduce the amount of sugar to your taste.
The relish can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Feel free to add other ingredients like chopped walnuts or pecans for added texture and flavor.
