Follow The Directions

01

Step
10 mins

In a large saucepan, brown the ground beef, bacon, onion, celery, and carrots over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the bacon is crisp. (Approx. 10 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

Add the beef broth or wine to the saucepan. Simmer until the liquid has evaporated, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan to deglaze. (Approx. 5 minutes)

03

Step
15 mins

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and whole milk. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency. (Approx. 15 minutes)

04

Step

Serve the Bolognese sauce hot over your favorite cooked pasta. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs, if desired.

For a richer flavor, use a combination of ground beef and ground pork.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a subtle kick.
If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of broth or water to thin it out.
This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
Consider adding other vegetables such as mushrooms, bell peppers, or zucchini to the sauce.
