Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

Tear the brioche bread into 1-inch pieces and arrange them evenly in an 8-inch square baking dish. (5 minutes)

03

Step
2 mins

Drizzle the melted butter over the bread, then sprinkle with the toasted pecans and golden raisins. (2 minutes)

04

Step
3 mins

In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined. (3 minutes)

05

Step
15 mins

Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread in the baking dish. Gently press down on the bread to ensure it is fully saturated. Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the custard. (15 minutes)

06

Step
40 mins

Bake, uncovered, in the preheated oven until the top is puffed and golden brown, and the custard is set. This will take approximately 40 minutes. The pudding will settle slightly as it cools. (40 minutes)

07

Step

Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of your favorite liquor (such as bourbon or rum) to the custard mixture.
To toast the pecans, spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 5-7 minutes, or until fragrant. Alternatively, you can toast them in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently, until lightly browned.
If you don't have brioche bread, challah or even sturdy white bread can be substituted.
