Follow The Directions

01

Step

Place the eggs in a saucepan in a single layer and cover with cold water, ensuring the water is about 1 inch above the eggs. Cover the saucepan and bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat. Remove from heat and let the eggs stand in the hot water for 15 minutes. (Time: 15 minutes)

02

Step

Drain the eggs immediately and cool them under cold running water until they are cool enough to handle. Gently peel the eggs and halve them lengthwise. Carefully scoop out the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.

03

Step

Using a fork, mash the yolks until smooth. Add the pressed garlic and continue mashing until well combined. (Time: 2 minutes)

04

Step

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until crispy. Drain the bacon on a paper towel-lined plate. Once cooled, finely chop the bacon and add it to the mashed egg yolks. (Time: 10 minutes)

05

Step

Add the finely chopped fresh basil, mayonnaise, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to the yolk mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. (Time: 3 minutes)

06

Step

Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture into the hollows of the egg white halves. Sprinkle each deviled egg with a pinch of paprika for a pop of color. (Time: 5 minutes)

07

Step

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving. (Time: 30 minutes)

For easier peeling, add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to the water while boiling the eggs. This helps to separate the egg from the shell.
If you prefer a smoother filling, you can use a food processor to blend the yolks and other ingredients.
Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your liking. A pinch of cayenne pepper can also be used for a similar effect.
For a smoky flavor, try using smoked paprika as a garnish.
