Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Crisp the Bacon (5 minutes): Place chopped turkey bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned and crispy. Drain on paper towels, reserving 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet. Crumble the bacon.

02

Step
5 mins

Cook the Pasta (4-5 minutes): Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add angel hair pasta and cook until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.

03

Step
1 mins

Prepare the Yogurt Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic salt, onion powder, and a generous grind of black pepper.

04

Step
3 mins

Combine and Finish (2-3 minutes): Drain the pasta and immediately return it to the pot. Pour the Greek yogurt mixture over the hot pasta. Working quickly, toss to coat, adding a little of the reserved pasta water at a time until a creamy sauce forms. Stir in the crumbled bacon. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.

For an even richer flavor, use full-fat Greek yogurt.
Be sure to work quickly when adding the yogurt mixture to the pasta, as the heat from the pasta will gently cook the egg and create a creamy sauce.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your spice preference.
If the sauce is too thick, add more pasta water, a tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.

Easy to make and a crowd-pleaser! I used regular bacon instead of turkey bacon, and it was still fantastic.

I was skeptical about using Greek yogurt, but this was surprisingly delicious and much lighter than traditional carbonara!

My family loved this! It's a great way to sneak in some extra protein. I added a little lemon zest for brightness.
