Step

In a large (12-inch) skillet, combine the entire box of rotini pasta with 2 1/2 cups of cold water. Ensure the water covers the pasta. Add the sliced mushrooms and Marsala wine. Season lightly with salt.

Bring to a boil over high heat. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed. (Approximately 8-10 minutes)

Stir in the Barilla® Mushroom Sauce. Reduce heat to low and gently heat through, stirring to combine all ingredients. (Approximately 2-3 minutes)

Remove from heat. Stir in the grated pecorino cheese and chopped parsley until well combined.

Serve immediately, with additional grated pecorino cheese and a sprinkle of fresh parsley, if desired.

For a richer flavor, sauté the sliced mushrooms in a tablespoon of olive oil with a clove of minced garlic before adding them to the pasta.
If you don't have pecorino cheese, Parmesan cheese is a suitable substitute.
A splash of cream at the end can add extra richness to the sauce.
Adjust the amount of Marsala wine to your liking, depending on your preferred level of sweetness.
