Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, panko bread crumbs, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, egg, 2 cloves minced garlic, and ginger. Mix gently until just combined to avoid tough meatballs. Form into golf ball-sized meatballs and arrange on the prepared baking sheet. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the meatballs are cooked through and no longer pink inside, approximately 10-12 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). (10-12 minutes)

04

Step

While the meatballs are baking, prepare the hoisin glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, remaining minced garlic, hoisin sauce, green onion, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until smooth. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Prepare the frozen fried rice according to package directions. Typically, this involves microwaving the bag for 6-8 minutes, stirring, and then microwaving for another minute. (8-10 minutes)

06

Step

Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to a serving bowl. Pour the prepared hoisin glaze over the meatballs, tossing gently to ensure they are evenly coated. (2 minutes)

07

Step

Serve the glazed meatballs immediately over a bed of hot fried rice. Garnish with extra sliced green onions or sesame seeds, if desired.

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the hoisin glaze for a touch of heat.
Ground turkey or chicken can be substituted for ground beef.
If you don't have frozen fried rice on hand, you can easily make your own using leftover cooked rice and your favorite stir-fry vegetables.
