Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, milk, sugar, butter, and egg. Stir until a soft dough forms. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until soft, smooth, and elastic. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Place the dough in a large oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. (1 hour)

04

Step

Deflate the dough and divide it into 16 equal pieces. Gently press each piece into English muffin rings, then sprinkle both sides with semolina. Let rest. (30 minutes)

05

Step

Preheat a griddle to 400°F (200°C) or use a heavy skillet over low heat. Cook the muffins until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reaches 200°F (93°C). (14-20 minutes)

For the best results, use a kitchen scale to measure the flour accurately.
Ensure the milk is lukewarm to activate the yeast properly.
If you don't have English muffin rings, you can shape the dough into rounds by hand.
Cooking time may vary depending on your griddle or skillet; adjust accordingly to achieve a golden-brown color without burning.
