Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray. (2 minutes)

02

Step

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Stir bell pepper and taco seasoning into ground beef. Spread ground beef mixture into prepared casserole dish. (12 minutes)

03

Step

Sprinkle tomato and green onions over ground beef mixture; top with taco sauce. Spread sour cream over taco sauce layer and top with Cheddar cheese. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and bubbling, 10 to 20 minutes. Serve immediately with tortilla chips. (20 minutes)

For a richer flavor, try using a blend of ground beef and chorizo.
Add a layer of refried beans between the beef mixture and the toppings for extra heartiness.
Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorites – black olives, jalapenos, or a sprinkle of cilantro would be delicious.

The tips were really helpful, especially the one about adding cornstarch to the sour cream. It kept the dip from getting too watery.

Next time, I'll try adding a layer of refried beans underneath the beef mixture for even more flavor and texture.
