Follow The Directions

01

Step

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Add shrimp, and cook for about 3-5 minutes, until pink and just cooked through. Be careful not to overcook! (5 minutes)

03

Step

Drain immediately and transfer shrimp to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. (2 minutes)

04

Step

In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced onion and green bell pepper strips.

05

Step

In a separate bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, sugar, yellow mustard, drained capers, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and hot sauce until well blended.

06

Step

Pour the marinade over the onion and bell pepper mixture. Toss to combine.

07

Step

Add the chilled shrimp to the bowl with the marinade. Ensure the shrimp are fully coated.

08

Step

Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container.

09

Step

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld. (240 minutes)

10

Step

Serve chilled and enjoy!

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a pinch of smoked paprika to the marinade.
Adjust the amount of hot pepper sauce to your preference. Start with a small amount and taste as you go.
Make sure the shrimp are completely cooled before adding them to the marinade to prevent the marinade from becoming diluted.
Serve with crusty bread or crackers for dipping.
