Pour in water and milk, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Stir in the elbow macaroni and ranch dressing mix. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 6 minutes.

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the pot along with the pasta.
