For an extra layer of flavor, consider infusing the cream with a vanilla bean. Split the bean lengthwise, scrape out the seeds, and add both the seeds and the pod to the cream while simmering. Remove the pod before adding the gelatin. To easily unmold the panna cotta, dip the bottom of each ramekin briefly in warm water before inverting onto a serving plate. Serve chilled with fresh berries, a drizzle of honey, or a dusting of cocoa powder for an elegant presentation.
