Follow The Directions

01

Step

Position an oven rack approximately 3 inches from the broiler and preheat to high.

02

Step

Arrange the drained peach halves, cut-side up, in a shallow, oven-safe baking dish. (2 minutes)

03

Step

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, chopped pecans, and ground cinnamon until well mixed. (1 minute)

04

Step

Generously sprinkle the brown sugar mixture over the surface of each peach half, ensuring an even coating. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Place the baking dish under the preheated broiler and cook until the topping is melted, bubbly, and beautifully browned. This usually takes just 2 to 3 minutes, so watch closely to prevent burning. (2-3 minutes)

06

Step

Remove from the broiler and let cool slightly before serving. (5 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or ginger to the brown sugar mixture.
Fresh peaches can be used in place of canned. Blanch them first to remove the skin, then halve and pit them before proceeding with the recipe. Adjust cooking time as needed.
Crème fraîche or vanilla ice cream complement the warm peaches beautifully.
If you don't have a broiler, you can use a kitchen torch to brulee the sugar topping. Be careful when using a kitchen torch.
