Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Mold: Lightly grease a brain-shaped gelatin mold with cooking spray to ensure easy release. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

02

Step

Dissolve the Gelatin: In a large bowl, combine the peach gelatin mix with 3 cups of boiling water. Stir continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. (Cooling time: approximately 20 minutes)

03

Step

Combine Ingredients: Once cooled, gently mix in the evaporated milk and peach schnapps until well combined. (Mix time: 5 minutes)

04

Step

Mold and Refrigerate: Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into the prepared brain-shaped mold. Refrigerate for at least 4 to 6 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the gelatin to set completely. (Refrigeration time: 4-6 hours or overnight)

05

Step

Unmold the Brain: Dip the bottom of the mold briefly in warm water to loosen the gelatin. Ensure that water does not enter the top of the mold. Invert the mold onto a serving platter and gently lift to release the brain. (Release time: 5 minutes)

06

Step

Add Color: In a small bowl, mix the blue and red food coloring with 2 teaspoons of water to create a realistic brain color. Use a small, clean paintbrush to carefully paint the food coloring into the grooves and crevices of the brain. (Painting time: 15 minutes)

07

Step

Set the Color: Place the painted brain back into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the color to set and deepen. (Setting time: 30 minutes)

08

Step

Serve: Serve the Pink Brain Shooter cold and watch your guests marvel at this delightfully gruesome creation!

For a more intense brain-like appearance, consider using a combination of different food colorings, such as a touch of green or yellow.
If you don't have a brain-shaped mold, you can use any type of decorative mold, but the visual impact will be different.
Adjust the amount of peach schnapps to your liking. For a less alcoholic version, reduce the schnapps and increase the evaporated milk accordingly.
Ensure the gelatin mixture is completely cooled before adding the evaporated milk to prevent curdling.

My brain wouldn't come out of the mold cleanly. Any tips? Should I grease it more? (author's response: Yes, greasing the mold thoroughly is key! Also, make sure the water you dip it in isn't too hot, just warm enough to loosen it.)
