Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a small skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent. Stir in the ground turmeric and plumped raisins. Continue to sauté for another minute until fragrant. Gently fold in the cooked rice and season with salt to taste. Mix well, ensuring all ingredients are evenly distributed. (15 minutes)

03

Step

Lightly brush the outside of both chickens with melted butter and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. Carefully stuff the rice mixture into the cavity of each chicken. Secure the legs with kitchen twine, if desired, to maintain a compact shape. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Place the stuffed chickens in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour, or until the chickens are golden brown and the juices run clear when pierced with a fork or knife. (60 minutes)

For enhanced flavor, consider adding chopped fresh herbs such as parsley or cilantro to the rice stuffing.
To ensure even cooking, let the chickens rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
If the chicken skin starts to brown too quickly, tent it loosely with aluminum foil.

Make sure you don't overstuff the chicken. Leave some room for the rice to expand.
