For a richer flavor, use browned butter instead of melted margarine. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses. Gruyere or sharp cheddar would also be delicious. If you don't have fresh parsley, dried parsley can be substituted, but use half the amount (1 tablespoon). For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeño, or add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sausage mixture. This bread can be made ahead of time and reheated. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Jun 4, 2025I've made this twice now, and it's always a winner. The jalapeño gives it just the right amount of spice.

Feb 27, 2025The bread turned out a little dry for me, so next time I'll add a bit more milk. But overall, it was very tasty!
