Follow The Directions

01

Step
1 mins

In a large skillet or sauté pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. (1 minute)

02

Step
5 mins

Add the sliced mushrooms, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is translucent and the mushrooms have softened and released their moisture, about 5 minutes.

03

Step
1 mins

Add the chopped Swiss chard, roasted red pepper, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine. (1 minute)

04

Step
3 mins

Cook until the Swiss chard is wilted and tender, about 3 minutes. Be careful not to overcook.

05

Step
4 mins

Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, allowing the wine to reduce slightly and the flavors to meld together beautifully. The chard should be tender and the sauce slightly thickened.

For a richer flavor, consider using butter or a combination of butter and olive oil.
Feel free to experiment with other vegetables, such as spinach, kale, or bell peppers.
A pinch of red pepper flakes can add a touch of heat.
Serve immediately as a side dish or over pasta or polenta for a complete meal.
If you don't have roasted red peppers on hand, you can use jarred roasted red peppers, drained and chopped.
Adjust the seasoning to your liking. Taste and add more salt, pepper, or herbs as needed.
