Follow The Directions

01

Step

Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. (1 minute)

02

Step

Add the steak strips and stir-fry until browned on all sides. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside. (1 minute)

04

Step

In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets, sugar snap peas, baby carrots, and green bell pepper. Stir-fry until the vegetables are tender-crisp. (5-7 minutes)

05

Step

Return the steak to the skillet with the vegetables. (1 minute)

06

Step

Pour in the Chardonnay wine, honey, and dark soy sauce. Add the red pepper flakes. (1 minute)

07

Step

Stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. (1 minute)

08

Step

Simmer and stir until the sauce has reduced and thickened slightly, coating the steak and vegetables. (8-10 minutes)

09

Step

Serve immediately over rice or noodles, if desired.

For a richer flavor, marinate the steak in a mixture of soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
Feel free to substitute other vegetables based on your preference and availability. Bell peppers of different colors, mushrooms, or onions would all be great additions.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to control the level of spiciness.
If you don't have Chardonnay, you can use another dry white wine or even chicken broth.
Serve this stir-fry immediately to enjoy the best texture of the steak and vegetables.

I was a bit skeptical about the wine, but it really adds a nice depth to the sauce. I used a Riesling since that's what I had open, and it worked great!

My kids even loved this! I reduced the red pepper flakes and served it with rice noodles. Definitely going into our regular rotation.

I found it was missing a bit of umami, so I added a teaspoon of fish sauce. It really took it to the next level!
