For a richer flavor, use browned butter instead of regular softened butter.
If you don't have almond extract, vanilla extract works well as a substitute.
Be sure to drain the strawberries well to prevent the bread from becoming soggy.
For a decorative touch, sprinkle sliced almonds or a streusel topping over the batter before baking.

My bread sank in the middle. What did I do wrong?

  • Pierre Sawayn

Answer: Make sure you don't overmix the batter after adding the egg whites. Overmixing can deflate the batter and cause it to sink.

I added a cream cheese glaze to mine, and it was amazing!

The almond extract really enhances the strawberry flavor. I'll definitely be making this again.
