Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large glass or ceramic bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, honey, and ginger. Add the chicken strips and toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, or overnight for best results. (8+ hours)

02

Step

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add the spaghetti and cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 12 minutes. Drain well in a colander, then return to the pot. Stir in 1 tablespoon of butter and season with salt and pepper. (12 minutes)

03

Step

While the pasta is cooking, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Add the chicken to the skillet with the onions. Discard the remaining marinade. Cook the chicken, stirring occasionally, until it is cooked through and no longer pink in the center, about 8-10 minutes. (8-10 minutes)

05

Step

Serve the sweet garlic chicken over the buttered spaghetti. Garnish with extra black pepper and a sprinkle of fresh herbs (such as parsley or chives) for a pop of color.

For an extra depth of flavor, try using a high-quality soy sauce and raw honey.
If you don't have fresh ginger, 1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger can be substituted.
Feel free to add some vegetables to the skillet along with the onions, such as bell peppers or mushrooms.
