For a richer flavor, use chicken broth in place of half of the milk. Add 1 cup of frozen peas, mixed vegetables, or chopped broccoli for added color and nutrients. To prevent the top from browning too quickly, cover the casserole with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
