Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 5 minutes. (Time: 5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, combine the self-rising flour, shredded Cheddar cheese, milk, chopped green chile peppers, ¾ teaspoon of taco seasoning, garlic powder, cumin, and sugar. Mix until a soft dough forms. (Time: 5 minutes)

03

Step

Line the air fryer basket with a parchment paper round. Spray the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray. Using a spring-hinged scoop or spoon, drop the dough into the prepared basket, leaving a little space between each biscuit. Air fry for 12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. (Time: 12 minutes)

04

Step

While the biscuits are air frying, prepare the topping: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted salted butter and the remaining 2 teaspoons of taco seasoning mix until well combined. (Time: 2 minutes)

05

Step

Once the biscuits are done, carefully remove them from the air fryer. Brush the tops of the warm biscuits with the taco-seasoned butter mixture. Serve immediately and enjoy the zesty, cheesy goodness! (Time: 1 minute)

For best results, use freshly shredded cheddar cheese – it melts better and adds superior flavor.
Don't overmix the dough, or the biscuits can become tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
If you don't have self-rising flour, you can make your own by combining 1 cup all-purpose flour with 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder and ¼ teaspoon salt.
Adjust the amount of taco seasoning to your liking. For a spicier biscuit, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the dough.
Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently in the air fryer or oven before serving.

My biscuits were a little dry, but that's probably because I overcooked them. I will reduce the cooking time next time, but the flavor was great!

I was skeptical about the taco seasoning, but it totally works! These are so easy to make and taste fantastic.

I added a little extra green chile for more heat. Delicious! Will definitely make these again.
