Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. (5 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, minced cilantro, bread crumbs, beaten egg, sliced scallions, vegetable oil, sesame oil, and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Use your hands to mix until just combined – avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender. (5 minutes)

03

Step
10 mins

Shape the mixture into tablespoon-sized meatballs by rolling them between your palms. Arrange the meatballs evenly on the prepared baking sheet. (10 minutes)

04

Step
25 mins

Bake in the preheated oven until the meatballs are beautifully browned and cooked through, approximately 20-25 minutes. Ensure an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C) is reached. (25 minutes)

05

Step
2 mins

While the meatballs are baking, prepare the dipping sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the smashed ginger, brown sugar, ¼ cup soy sauce, and rice vinegar. (2 minutes)

06

Step
3 mins

Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is fully dissolved. (3 minutes)

07

Step
3 mins

Simmer the sauce, stirring frequently, until it slightly thickens, about 3 minutes. (3 minutes)

08

Step
2 mins

Remove the saucepan from heat. Fish out the smashed ginger pieces and discard. Pour the flavorful sauce into small serving cups. (2 minutes)

09

Step

Serve the baked meatballs immediately alongside the prepared dipping sauce. Provide toothpicks for easy dipping and enjoying. Garnish with extra cilantro, if desired.

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
If you don’t have fresh ginger, you can substitute with ½ teaspoon of ground ginger in the sauce.
The dipping sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Gently reheat before serving.
To make ahead, prepare the meatballs and store them covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
