Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, bourbon, peach preserves, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, Montreal steak seasoning, and liquid smoke flavoring. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Reserve half of the sauce for basting. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Place the chicken breasts on a sheet pan or broiling tray. Generously brush the chicken with the prepared BBQ sauce. (2 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Flip the chicken breasts and baste with the reserved sauce. (1 minute)

05

Step

Position an oven rack approximately 6 inches from the heat source and turn on the oven's broiler.

06

Step

Broil the chicken, basting and flipping every 3 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear. The internal temperature should reach at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). This should take approximately 10-15 minutes.

For a richer flavor, consider using a high-quality bourbon. Experiment with different peach preserves to find your preferred level of sweetness. Watch the chicken closely while broiling to prevent burning, as broilers can vary in intensity. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
