Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line two 12-cup muffin tins with paper liners. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Place 1 vanilla wafer, flat-side down, in the bottom of each liner. (5 minutes)

03

Step

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, eggs, and oil. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until moistened, about 30 seconds. Increase speed to medium; beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Fold in 1 cup of crushed wafers and mashed bananas; scoop batter into the prepared muffin cups. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean, 18 to 20 minutes. Transfer cupcakes to a wire rack to cool, about 30 minutes. (50 minutes)

05

Step

In a small bowl, combine vanilla pudding and sliced banana. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Scoop out cooled cupcake tops, leaving a small hole in the middle of each. Fill holes with pudding mixture; top with a heaping spoonful of whipped cream. Garnish cupcakes with remaining ⅔ cup crushed wafers. (15 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a touch of banana extract to the cake batter.
If you're short on time, high-quality store-bought vanilla pudding and whipped cream work perfectly well.
Make sure the cupcakes are completely cool before filling to prevent the pudding from melting.
Garnish with extra banana slices or a sprinkle of cinnamon for a more sophisticated presentation.
