Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the rice and sauté, stirring frequently, until lightly browned. (Approximately 3-5 minutes)

02

Step
1 mins

Stir in the seasoning packet from the rice blend and the orange zest. (Approximately 1 minute)

03

Step
1 mins

In a separate measuring cup, combine the orange juice with enough water to measure 2 1/3 cups. Add this mixture to the rice. (Approximately 1 minute)

04

Step
25 mins

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until all liquid is absorbed. (Approximately 25 minutes)

05

Step
5 mins

Remove from heat and gently stir in the toasted pecans. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

For a richer flavor, brown the butter before sautéing the rice.
If you don't have pecans, walnuts or almonds also work well.
Freshly squeezed orange juice is key for the best flavor! Bottled juice doesn't have the same vibrancy.
To toast pecans, spread them on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until fragrant and lightly browned. Watch carefully so they don't burn!

This stuffing was a hit at Thanksgiving! Everyone loved the hint of orange.

I was skeptical about the orange, but it really made the dish special. I'll be making this again!

Easy to follow and delicious. I added a bit of dried cranberry for extra sweetness.

  • Kian Ebert

The pecans added a wonderful crunch. I might try adding some sausage next time.
