Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Prepare the Napa Cabbage and Pork Filling: Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the shredded napa cabbage and cook uncovered until just tender, about 1 minute. Drain immediately in a colander and plunge into ice water to halt the cooking process. (5 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

Once the napa cabbage is cold, drain thoroughly, squeezing out any excess moisture. Transfer the cabbage to a large bowl and combine with the ground pork, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, dry sherry, cornstarch, 1 1/2 teaspoons of minced fresh ginger, and the minced green onion. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. (5 minutes)

03

Step
30 mins

Assemble the Wontons: Lay out half of the wonton wrappers on a large sheet of waxed paper. Lightly brush each wrapper with the beaten egg white. Place a generous teaspoon of the pork mixture in the center of each wrapper. Gather all four corners of the wonton wrapper and pinch the edges firmly together to seal in the filling, creating a small pouch. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling. (30 minutes)

04

Step
10 mins

Cook the Wontons: Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Gently drop the wontons into the boiling water, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. When the wontons rise to the surface, continue to cook them for one minute longer to ensure the filling is cooked through. Remove the cooked wontons with a slotted spoon and place them on a platter. (10 minutes)

05

Step
2 mins

Prepare the Dipping Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of soy sauce, seasoned rice vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of finely shredded fresh ginger. (2 minutes)

06

Step
0 mins

Serve: Serve the cooked wontons immediately with the dipping sauce on the side. Garnish with extra green onions or sesame seeds, if desired.

For best results, use fresh, high-quality ground pork.
Make sure to squeeze as much water as possible from the cooked napa cabbage to prevent soggy wontons.
Don't overcook the wontons, as they will become mushy.
You can adjust the amount of ginger in the dipping sauce to your preference.
Wontons can be steamed or pan-fried instead of boiled.
