Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Unroll the cinnamon roll dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently press the dough together to form a single sheet, approximately the size of your 9x13-inch baking dish. Carefully transfer the dough to the dish and press it evenly onto the bottom. (10 minutes)

03

Step

In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, and salt. Add the softened butter and use your fingers or a pastry blender to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Arrange the sliced apples evenly over the cinnamon roll crust. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the apples. Top with the oat crumble mixture, distributing it evenly. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown and crisp. (50 minutes)

06

Step

While the crisp is baking, remove the icing from the cinnamon roll package. Place the icing in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave in 10-second intervals, stirring in between, until warmed and easily pourable. (2 minutes)

07

Step

Once the crisp is out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes before drizzling the warmed icing evenly over the top. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

For a nuttier flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts to the oat crumble mixture.
Feel free to experiment with different apple varieties, such as Honeycrisp or Gala, for a slightly different flavor profile.
If you don't have margarine, softened butter works perfectly well.
To prevent the crust from browning too quickly, you can tent the baking dish with aluminum foil during the last 15-20 minutes of baking.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave before serving.
