Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large frying pan, brown the ground beef in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. (approximately 8-10 minutes)

02

Step

Mix in the minced water chestnuts, finely chopped onion, chopped celery, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined. No need to pre-cook the vegetables. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste. (approximately 3-5 minutes)

03

Step

Place one tablespoon of the beef mixture into the center of each wonton wrapper.

04

Step

Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll the wrapper up around the filling in an egg roll style, ensuring the filling is completely enclosed. (approximately 20-30 minutes)

05

Step

In an electric deep fryer or a heavy saucepan, heat vegetable oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

06

Step

Carefully deep fry the won tons in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the fryer, until the wrappers are golden brown and crispy. (approximately 3-5 minutes per batch)

07

Step

Once cooked, place the giant won tons on paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve warm with BBQ sauce, honey mustard, and salsa for dipping.

These won tons freeze exceptionally well. After assembling, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until solid. Transfer to freezer bags for longer storage.
For baking, preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place frozen won tons on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
Consider adding a pinch of ginger or garlic to the beef mixture for an extra layer of flavor.
