Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly spray an 8-inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. (5 minutes)

02

Step

On a lightly floured surface, roll 1 pastry sheet into an 11-inch square. Cut the remaining pastry sheet crosswise into strips and weave into a lattice on a baking sheet. Freeze the lattice while preparing the filling. (15 minutes)

03

Step

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk thoroughly until blended. Gradually pour in chicken broth and milk, whisking continually to avoid lumps. Stir in lemon-garlic seasoning blend, Swiss cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well until everything is combined, about 5 minutes. Add diced chicken and thawed vegetables. (15 minutes)

04

Step

Carefully fit the puff pastry square into the prepared casserole dish, trimming any excess dough as needed. Pour the chicken filling into the dough-lined dish. Top with the latticed puff pastry, pressing and crimping the edges to seal. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden finish. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Bake, uncovered, in the preheated oven until the filling is bubbly and the top is beautifully golden brown, approximately 45 to 55 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving to allow the filling to set slightly. (70 minutes)

For an even richer flavor, consider using homemade chicken broth.
If you don't have lemon-garlic seasoning blend, you can substitute with 1 teaspoon of lemon zest and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
Feel free to experiment with different cheeses, such as Gruyere or Fontina, for a unique twist.
To prevent the puff pastry from browning too quickly, you can loosely tent the dish with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
