Combine dark rum, light rum, lime juice, and passion fruit syrup in a cocktail shaker. (2 minutes)

Cover tightly and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is well-frosted. This ensures the drink is properly chilled and diluted. (30 seconds)

Strain the mixture into a chilled hurricane glass or a large goblet filled with ice. (1 minute)

Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry for a festive touch. (30 seconds)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a dash of grenadine or a splash of orange juice.
If you don't have passion fruit syrup, you can muddle a small piece of fresh passion fruit with the lime juice before adding the rums.
Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less passion fruit syrup.
Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. Bottled lime juice can taste artificial.
