Follow The Directions

01

Step
1 mins

Pour 1 cup of water into the inner pot of your Instant Pot. Place the trivet inside. (2 minutes)

02

Step
10 mins

Carefully cut a circle around the pumpkin stem, creating an opening large enough to insert your hand. Remove the stem, seeds, and stringy fibers from inside the pumpkin. Place the pumpkin, cut-side down, on the trivet. If necessary, cut the pumpkin in half to fit comfortably in the pot. (10 minutes)

03

Step
27 mins

Secure the Instant Pot lid, ensuring the valve is set to 'Sealing'. Select the 'Manual' or 'Pressure Cook' setting and set the timer for 12 minutes. Allow 10-15 minutes for the pressure to build. (15 minutes)

04

Step
5 mins

Once the cooking cycle is complete, carefully perform a quick pressure release according to your Instant Pot's instructions (approximately 5 minutes). Once the pressure is fully released, unlock and remove the lid. (5 minutes)

05

Step
5 mins

Carefully remove the pumpkin from the Instant Pot and place it on a wire rack to cool slightly until it's comfortable to handle. (5 minutes)

06

Step
5 mins

Once cooled, scoop the pumpkin flesh from the skin and transfer it to a food processor or blender. Process until completely smooth and creamy. (5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, try roasting the pumpkin in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 375°F (190°C) before pureeing.
Adjust cooking time slightly depending on the size of your pumpkin; larger pumpkins may require a few extra minutes.
If the puree seems too watery after blending, strain it through a cheesecloth-lined sieve for a thicker consistency.
