For an extra nutty flavor, try adding 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter along with the chocolate chips. If you don't have whole wheat flour, you can substitute it with all-purpose flour. To prevent the top of the bread from browning too quickly, tent it with foil during the last 15-20 minutes of baking. This bread freezes beautifully. Cool completely, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and then place in a freezer bag. It will keep for up to 3 months.
